Als in Atlanta eine tödliche Seuche ausbricht, wird die Stadt schnell von der US-Gesundheitsbehörde abgeriegelt. Die unfreiwillig in der Quarantänezone Gefangenen müssen nun versuchen, auf sich alleine gestellt klar zu kommen, während sie von ihren Lieben außerhalb der Quarantänegrenze getrennt sind.
