Worum geht es in Last Impact - Der Einschlag?

Ein Asteroid mit einem Durchmesser von ca. 20 km, der durch den größten Meteoritenschauer der letzten 10.000 Jahre verdeckt wurde, kollidiert mit dem Mond. Teile des Asteroiden und des Mondes durchbrechen die Erdatmosphäre und schlagen auf der ganzen Welt verstreut ein. Anfangs ist der Schaden noch minimal, doch die Mondoberfläche weist erhebliche Schäden auf. Des Weiteren wurde der Mond aus seiner Bahn geworfen und nähert sich der Erde um ca. 30.000 km an. Erst sind es nur Kleinigkeiten, die durch die Annäherung des Mondes entstehen, wie gestörte Telefonsignale, Stromschwankungen und Funkstörungen, doch später heben – verursacht durch elektrische Aufladungen – Autos, Menschen, und Züge ab.

After a failed attempt by the United States to destroy the moon, our heroes bring all the countries of the world together in one last hope for humanity - an international mission to the moon itself where astronauts will attempt to reverse the magnetic effects and restore the moon to its original orbit. Alex, whose children are now missing after the latest rampage of anti-gravity, is emotionally torn as he must now join Roland and two other astronauts on the Earth saving mission into space. It is a race against time as the two celestial bodies are drawn closer and closer to impact, the world united, watching and praying, the survival of mankind in the balance.
